Have you got what it takes to become a Staff Nurse on our fast paced Rawcliffe day case Unit at Chorley Hospital. If so then come and join our team!
We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking, nurses to join us on our experienced nursing team on the surgical day case unit. You will need to have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and a good knowledge of IT systems in order to maintain our high standards to deliver nurse led patient care.
Working in a fast paced nurse led day case surgical unit with multiple specialities including upper GI, breast, urology, orthopaedics, plastics, colorectal, vascular, max fax, Gynae and ENT and supporting paediatric surgical lists.
Main duties of the job
You will have knowledge regarding governance and its importance in promoting and maintaining a safe and quality driven environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Rawcliffe Day case unit based in Chorley comprises of, urology, upper GI, breast, plastics, colorectal, ENT, max fax and vascular elective areas .
The role includes admissions, discharges and risk assessments of pre and post op surgical patients undergoing general and local anaesthetic procedures, working and supporting Senior and junior colleagues including student nurses.
Training needs are fully supported on the unit and you will always be encouraged to develop.

Pre and Post op Care, including monitoring of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, vena puncture, ECG, catheterisation, administration of medication and IV infusions, wound and drain care, pain management. Recognising signs and symptoms of post op complications , deteriorating patients and appropriate escalation in a timely manner.
Working with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe discharge including post op advice, referrals and appointments.
