Job summary

We are looking for an experienced informatics professional to join our Team as a Senior Informatics Systems Manager. You will play a vital role in helping to reduce waiting times for patients and improving financial outcomes, through your contribution to improved utilisation of Clinical Applications in the Trust.

You will be a highly skilled, adaptable individual who will be able to engage with multidisciplinary teams compromising of technical and clinical roles.

This is your opportunity to lead and see to fruition established programmes of work in IT, so we need someone with solid experience in successfullymaintaining core clinical systems as well as having delivered high-end IT Projects and lead teams through the system upgrades and replacements.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Digital & Health Informatics Directorate, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Wide Applications. Your main responsibility will be to support the Head of Enterprise Wide Applications in managing the development and maintenance of the core clinical and departmental systems used within the Trust currently.

You will have responsibility for the management, on-going support and maintenance (including training), service development and technical administration of the System Management across Royal Preston Hospital, Chorley District Hospital and Preston Business Centre, including the interfaces and integration with various hospital systems.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as senior escalation manager for various systems, taking responsibility for management of system. These include but not limited to Systems maintained by EWA such as EPR, Pathology, Radiology, Cardiology and Print Manage Solutions
  • Smooth running and responsible for the housekeeping of the various System
  • Assisting and liaising with linked ystems and projects; including but not limited to, Harris, Swisslab LIMS, Evolve, LPRES, PACS, Clinisys ICE
  • Responsible for providing support to system users on application and technical issues
  • Effectively manage system upgrades and future developments
  • Develop clinical systems security policies and procedures in line with trust IM&T policies
  • Assist and stay up to date with any standard operating procedure documents that link with the current system
