Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within GMMH for an experienced member of staff to lead in the development and delivery of clinical skills training for co-occurring mental health, alcohol & drugs training.
This role is initially for 12 months to identify and replicate best practice across GMMH services in line with existing and emerging national guidance. Support will be provided by existing training teams and opportunities for career development will be on offer. Suited to those with experience managing projects, responsive to innovation and a strong ability to network, this role encourages autonomy and creativity.
A strong knowledge of co-occurring conditions and/or training needs analysis would be desirable but existing transferrable skills will be considered. Support around learning and development will be supported via experienced operational and clinical leaders within GMMH. Based remotely, or use of existing team spaces is available and there will be an expectation to travel around the organisation and have exceptional MS Teams and presentation skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support and add to the extension of MDDLS training activities to equivalent staffing areas (Inpatient and Community) across the GMMH footprint.
The post holder will link, liaise and initially work closely with other clinical trainers to ensure consistency of approach in line with GMMH Trust values is maintained as standard.
The post holder will be responsive to any training enquiries and share in regular team meetings in order to respond to local need efficiently around subject specific areas.
This post holder will also seek to understand a range of staff training needs from across the organisation and a training needs analysis will form the basis of developments made.
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting voices of Experts By Experience (EBE) to contribute, develop, coproduce and cofacilitate courses to staff working alongside people with COMHAD related needs.
As services develop the post holder will be expected to be responsive to changes in emerging drug trends, policy guidance, national guidance - all of which will be reflected in the requisite continual learning and evaluation of all courses.

Training will be delivered and developed in accordance with 2025 guidance (CoSUM/Delivery Framework) as well as Public Health England and NICE guidance.
Quality:
Conduct a GMMH training needs analysis in relation to COMHAD, to inform new course development alongside best available evidence, current guidance. This will be supported by NHSE training strategy standards and align with the training strategy for Manchester and wider GMMH strategies.
