Job summary

We are looking for dedicated support workers to join our teams on the Female acute inpatient wards at the brand new, state-of-the-art Mental Health Unit at North View and other areas across AOWA, PICU and Later Life within GMMH.

As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Your contributions will help foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere, promoting recovery and well-being. Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for individuals facing mental health challenges. By collaborating closely with the registered nurse and an identified member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will deliver essential routine care and assistance to enhance the well-being of those in their care. In addition to providing direct support, the post holder will actively promote therapeutic activities on the ward. This initiative will be carried out under the guidance of the nursing team and in partnership with the medical team, occupational therapist, psychology team, recovery workers and patient flow team, ensuring that each individual receives tailored interventions that contribute to their recovery journey. Through this collaborative approach, the post holder will help create a nurturing atmosphere that encourages personal growth and healing.
