Job summary

Due to successful promotion of the current post holder an excellent opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse RGN to join our highly skilled primary care team at HMP Manchester.

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate nurse who has an interest in providing equitable care to individuals detained in prison.

You will contribute to evidence based patient care and be an integral part of the MDT and wider prison multi agency team. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to make structured professional decisions.

The role requires strong emotional resilience, self awareness and continuous reflective practice. You will be supported by your peers and managers.

You must have been a UK resident for 3 years to be eligible to apply for this post. due to prison vetting requirements.

The role is subject to prison vetting (Counter Terrorism Clearance) which is a condition of employment and must be kept up to date for the duration of your employment.

**A valid in date registration PIN is required for this role.**

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will assist in the overall delivery of care to patients within the Primary Care department of HMP Manchester. You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will at all times comply with the NMC Code of Conduct, relevant legislation policies and procedures.

Healthcare services operate 7 days a week, and the successful applicants would need to be flexible in their approach to meeting the demands of the service
