An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our innovative and friendly pharmacy team.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision and continued development of a specialist clinical pharmacy service to wards at North View. North View is our brand new award winning inpatient mental health unit on the North Manchester General Hospital site
The post holder will be provide senior leadership within the Manchester pharmacy team. They will clinically supervise and support more junior pharmacists including direct line management were necessary.
The successful candidate will also hold a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or be keen to work towards this whilst in post.
Main duties of the job
- To deliver, develop and evaluate specialist clinical pharmacy services to the inpatient wards at North View, North Manchester General Hospital.
- To deputise for the North Manchester Lead Clinical Pharmacist, when required.
- To provide expert pharmaceutical advice to consultants and medical staff within the Trust and other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- To attend the MDT meeting on a regular basis.
- To provide expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and carers.
- To ensure that drug therapy is evidence based, safe, cost effective and appropriate to the individual patient.
- To ensure that medicines management practices within MDT and services comply with legal, national and local guidelines. To develop local procedures and guidelines within designated teams and services.
- To manage, supervise and train clinical pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy undergraduates.
- To supervise and train technical staff and other health care professionals.
