Job summary
To carry out the distribution and Portering Duties detailed below to meet the standards, policies and objectives of the Transport/Logistics Services.Liaise with a variety of customers, both internal and external to the Trust, building an excellent working relationship.
To be the initial point of contact for all communication promoting customer care and reflectingthe quality standards of Capital, Estates and Facilities in all aspects of work undertaken.
The post holder will work as part of the Transport/Logistics Team and will be required to work closely with his/her colleagues, providing a flexible comprehensive service offering cover for colleagues when necessary, for which full training will be provided.
Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role will be to provide Driver/Porter services across the Trust in line with the Job Description. Including:
- The safe delivery of samples, medication and linen supplies.
- Driving services users.
- Delivery of food.
- Safe Transportation and franking of Trust mail.
- Delivery of NHS supply chain cages.
- Collection of bulky equipment / furniture, clinical waste and confidential waste
