Job Summary/Purpose
To support individuals referred to secondary mental health services for assessment or ongoing care. To demonstrate the Trust values of inspiring hope, working together, to be caring and compassionate, to value and respect others/ourselves and to be open and honest.
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse you will demonstrate and live the NMC values as identified in the relevant Code of Practice.
Your post will include working with individuals using evidence-based interventions to promote their independence and recovery whilst maintaining high quality clinical documentation.
This includes respecting individuality, values, cultures and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

Practice Effectively

To provide specialist mental health interventions in the assessment, support, and recovery of individuals with severe mental health difficulties. These include but are not limited to Mental State assessments, Social Care Assessments, physical health care monitoring, side effect profile monitoring, etc.

Ensure, as far as practicable, the full involvement of individuals and their carers in the assessment, formulation and review of their care plans.

To maintain your personal well-being using all available resources available to you via the Trust or professionally, including PAM assist, Occupational Health, etc.

To comply with the relevant NMC codes of professional conduct, local, and national professional standards, policies and procedures.

With support from line managers, make safeguarding enquiries in line with Section 42 of the Care Act (2014) ensuring that safeguarding is person-centred, proportionate, specific, and that outcome measures are achieved and risk is mitigated.

To ensure the management of risk in accordance with the Trust Policies and procedures, including the investigation process in regard to Root Cause Analysis, complaints, accidents, and near miss situations via the InPhase system.
