Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to join our dynamic teams.

Beech Ward is a 20 bedded male acute psychiatric inpatient service.

Oak Ward is a 22 bedded female acute psychiatric inpatient service.

Maple House is a 6 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care unit.

All these wards are located at Royal Bolton Hospital and we have vacancies within all 3 wards.

We are keen to promote high quality services to the service users within our wards and fully embrace the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust values within our ethos. As such, we are looking for keen, dependable, caring and compassionate candidates, who are committed to high quality healthcare provision. Knowledge of inpatient care is desirable although not essential. You will be expected to assist and support the patients under the guidance of qualified staff in order to promote recovery and well-being. You will be supported by the team and manager and encouraged to develop your skills within the care environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will provide support and assist the professionally qualified staff on the ward/department. Your responsibilities will include direct nursing care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, administrative and ancillary duties. You will be expected to have a positive attitude towards our service users and be recovery focused in your approach.

The successful applicants will be required to work across site and undertake shifts that will cover 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Please be advised that rotation between wards is possible. The successful applicants will also be required to complete the Trust 5 day PMVA training course which is the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression which is to equip individuals with the necessary skills to identify, prevent and manage aggressive or violent behaviors in the workplace.
