Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Mental Health Nurse to join our team as team manager. The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the mental health professionals within our service. This will involve clinical and managerial leadership to all staff to ensure that women in custody at HMP Hindley receive the best standard of care possible within a timely and effective manner.
You must have been in the UK for 12 months prior to applying for this post and be able to provide a 6 year address history to be able to complete the prison clearance.
This role is subject to a additional recruitment and retention premia of £1542 per annum
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that the delivery and development of effective needs based, modern mental health care within the prison achieves equivalence to services available in the community. The successful applicant should be expert in all areas of service delivery, ensuring that effective communication within interagency working is achieved and maintained at all times.
The post holder will be a strong and supportive leader with confidence in managing complex cases and support the team in robust clinical risk management of service users. The post holder will also be adept in communication within a multiagency network both internally and externally to the prison environment. The post holder will ensure that the team maintain quality standards in every area of work in accordance with relevant local and national policy drivers and quality indicators.
