Job summary
The Trust is seeking a speciality doctor with recent acute medical experience to join the Chapman Barker Unit Team. The Trust regards this as an opportunity to further develop the functioning of the physical health team and offers an opportunity for the post-holder to develop their skills and expertise in the management of physical health-related disorders commonly found in specialist inpatient detoxification units. Psychiatric training is not required for this role which is within the medical team. Non-psychiatrists who meet the essential criteria are encouraged to apply.
The post holder will be expected to medically assess and treat patients who are undergoing medically assisted withdrawal from alcohol, opioids and other substances, often in parallel. The post-holder should be confident in managing a range of physical health disorders, including both those related to addiction disorders as well as other medical conditions.
