Job summary

Passionate about visible recovery from harmful drug and alcohol use you will be leading a small team of peer mentor Community Engagement Workers to expand the Next Steps Network, under the direction of the Community Development Team Lead.

This is a part-time post at 0.5 whole time equivalent equating to 18.75 hours in Bury.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to coordinate service user and carer engagement and community development associated with the Next Steps Network in Bury.

he post holder will be responsible for coordinating the development of a range of community initiatives, including but not limited to maintaining a positive service user experience, volunteer mentoring, advocacy and the monitoring and updating of community information.

The post holder will be responsible for increase the Social Value impact of Next Steps, which will involve support related to volunteering and education/training opportunities.

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of Peer Mentor Community Engagement Workers and project volunteers, allocating tasks using dynamic approaches to reduce stigma, improve community engagement in supporting visible recovery, using an asset based approach and contributing to various information streams, including social media and performance reports.

There is an emphasis on building and maintaining strong local connections within Bury, amongst organisations and individuals working within the broader wellbeing agenda.
