Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Manchester Care Group in the delivery of care and quality assurance of Mental Health services that are provided to those people with Learning Disabilities and/ or Autism. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician with experience of working with people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. You will be looking for a post that allows you to innovate and grow and develop services within a structure that provides support from across the local system

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work alongside and support the Manchester Care Group management team, inpatient services and the local CMHTs (Community Mental Health Team) during a period of significant transformation to establish robust and sustainable processes and service responses to meet the needs of those people using mental health services that have a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.

The post-holder will need to establish a pragmatic and solution focussed approach to the work which will ensure that the Manchester Care Group are meeting both the National and Local objectives and targets in relation to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. There is both a strategic and operational focus to this role which offers the post holder the opportunity to gain some excellent skills and experience across system leadership, strategic planning and operational management whilst maintaining their clinical practice skills.

  • oCurrent, relevant professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC, Social Work) and at least two years post registration experience in a relevant role
  • oEducated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area, plus further relevant experience or training to postgraduate level or equivalent

  • oRecent relevant professional experience and skills to undertake all clinical and other activities required in respect of the local and national LD/A agendas
  • oUnderstanding of and ability to use and articulate relevant law in relation to the needs of people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities and/or Autistic Spectrum conditions
  • oExperience in service development and performance, ensuring a service meets performance measures and records and reports appropriately
  • oExperience of multi-agency team working and developing relationships across organisational boundaries within the public sector
