Job summary

The post-holder will be responsible for a very busy, and enthusiastic admin team, ensuring deadlines are met appropriately. The post-holder will be responsible for over-seeing the administrative services for the Urgent Care and Inpatient Admin hub for Wigan.

The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administration Manager on waiting list management, ensuring appropriate admin provision is effective in supporting the service needs and delivery against performance targets. The post holder will also review and implement recording systems in relation to performance targets and data quality for their area of responsibility.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsibility for the line management of the Admin & Clerical staff to include recruitment, retention, supervision, support and appraisal.
  • Responsible for the training, development and competencies ensuring personal development plans are updated on a regular basis in accordance with Trust Policy.
  • To be responsible for monitoring non attendance in line with the Trust Attendance Management policy including recording of sickness and holidays and the production of absence reports as required.
  • To arrange, monitor (and participate) mandatory training for all A&C Staff.
  • In conjunction with the Admin and Performance Manager, work closely with colleagues across the directorate to ensure a standardised approach is taken in relation to performance and Data Quality matters.
  • To liaise with the Senior Administration Manager and Operational Managers on a regular basis to maintain awareness of service changes and initiatives and to respond to these changing administrative demands on clinicians and services.
  • To deputise for the Administration Coordinator as and when required.
