Job summary
We are really pleased to advertise this exciting new post funded by the Northern Care Alliance and provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust. This post is for an experienced dietitian with eating disorder and acute hospital experience to work across the Northern Care Alliance acute hospital sites in Greater Manchester. For the first six months, half of this post will be to provide direct dietetic input for patients with eating disorders and disordered eating admitted to The Northern Care Alliance acute hospitals. This will also involve attendance at MDTs and liaison with acute and community services. This post has been created due to an increased number of eating disorder and disordered eating admissions with NCA acute hospitals with the aim of quality improvement for these groups of patients.
Main duties of the job
0.5 WTE of this post will be to provide direct dietetic input for patients with eating disorders and disordered eating admitted to The Northern Care Alliance acute hospitals. This will include assessment and development of dietetic eating plans and supporting staff in the implementation of MEED and other relevant guidelines/policy as indicated. This will also involve attendance at MDTs and liaison with acute and community services.
The postholder will be employed by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust. Clinical and managerial supervision will be provided by the community adult eating disorder service which is a large service providing community eating disorder services to 6/10 Greater Manchester localities. The eating disorder team is an experienced, friendly, supportive MDT with an emphasis on providing evidence based, high quality eating disorder treatments. The service has very good links in Greater Manchester and with the Lead Provider Collaborative, Empowered which covers eating disorder provision across the North West of England. The service has been a key stakeholder is the development of a MEED group with NCA and significant progress has been made to implement MEED across the NCA.
