Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated consultants and other members of themultidisciplinary teams to help shape a modernising mental health service, which has beentransformed following recent changes in community settings and inpatient provision.
Main duties of the job
Clinical roleo Provide clinical leadership for the ward team and trainees.o The ward has 20 beds and patients can be admitted from across the trust's patch.o Conduct regular ward reviews and ward rounds, support the team to complete CPA.o Undertake assessments of admissions to the serviceo Assist team to diagnose and formulate management plans in all presentations.o Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health andsafety and risk of harm to others.o Coordinate care with input from pharmacists, occupational therapists, and psychology staffo Preparation of Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports andattendance at subsequent hearings.o Preparation of consent to treatment paperwork as well as any other MHA work such as section17 leave, section renewals and CTOso Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.o Work in partnership with psychiatrists from partner providers such as Forensic andRehabilitation Psychiatrists.Leadership roleo Lead clinical decision making in the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of highquality care.o Develop service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance andstandards.o Engage with service transformation programmes including attendance at Consultant meetingsfor their service and directorate.
