Job summary
This post will be based on Keats Ward (18 - 65 years) at Meadowbrook, which is the adult inpatient female acute ward for Salford.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including a Support, Time and Recovery worker (STR), for whom you will provide line management and clinical supervision. Your duties will include assessment of patients using occupational therapy models of practice, goal setting, treatment planning and implementation. The clinical work will consist of a mixture of individual ward based and community treatment sessions, ward and unit-based group sessions, and home assessments.
You will contribute to both multidisciplinary and OT/STR meetings, and will document all clinical work, and produce reports as required.
Meadowbrook is an acute psychiatric in-patient service specialising in short admissions for patients suffering from and variety of mental health illnesses or crises
You will receive regular line management and clinical supervision and annual appraisal.
Main duties of the job
- As part of the occupational therapy service, the post holder will collate new referrals, participate in the prioritisation process and accept in accordance with the occupational therapy service specification.
- To select and apply specialist evidence based occupational therapy assessments for the designated case load, addressing occupational performance and needs.
- To assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions to meet service user needs.
- To develop collaborative and client centred goals.
- To, monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for clients in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of interventions and client progress
The occupational therapy team at Meadowbrook are a supportive and vibrant team who are always striving to provide the most up to date occupational therapy assessments and interventions to our patient group.
The occupational therapy team at Meadowbrook consists of a senior practitioner in occupational therapy, a senior occupational therapist, 2 occupational therapists and support time recovery workers.
The occupational therapists are based on each ward, and form part of that ward's multidisciplinary team

The Salford Allied Health Professionals (AHP) also hold regular CPD events.
We enjoy supporting students on their placements and we encourage each team member to take up training on becoming a placement educator.
