Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Specialist Psychological Therapies Service for Wigan and Leigh. The service provides psychological assessment, formulation and therapy to adult service users with learning disabilities and psychological needs. This includes individual and group therapy using a range of theoretical approaches including CBT, CAT and DBT. The team is psychology lead and consists of Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Advanced Practitioners, a Support worker and a Clinical Team Manager. The team also works closely with Experts by Experience with learning disabilities and / or autism to develop and deliver training.
The Specialist Psychological Therapies service are based at the Hazelmere Unit at Leigh Infirmary. There is dedicated office and clinical space, onsite parking and good line management and clinical supervision arrangements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the specialist therapies team to provide assessments and therapeutic interventions to service users, in addition to being involved in the provision of training and consultation to service users, carers and other agencies. The post holder will be expected to provide services that meet the agreed service priorities consonant with practitioner experience and expertise.
