Job summary

GMMH Facilities are looking to recruit a Porter/Driver for our Facilities Logistics Team to further enhance our services teams who are moving towards a new and exciting future, utilising technological advancements, and rethinking processes to deliver strong service goals to our service users and customers.

The post holder will be the front face of the GMMH Logistics Team, working with colleagues across CEF Facilities and the wider organisation to make sure that the right items are delivered to the right place at the agreed time to ensure an excellent service to our customers.

The post holder will undertake driving, distribution, portering and stores duties to meet the standards, policies, and objectives of the Logistics Team and Trust.

The post holder will work as part of the Logistics /Transport Team and will be required to work closely with their teams, providing a flexible and comprehensive service offering cover for colleagues when necessary, for which full training will be provided.

The post holder will be a core member of the team and will maintain a focus on providing top-tier customer services and working with stakeholders to ensure the operation of the Logistics Team.

**Please note this will be a split role; Mon - Weds will be working with the Logistics / Waste Management Team and Thursday and Friday will be working in Prestwich Stores **

Main duties of the job

  • To act as the front facing contact for customers of the Logistics and Prestwich Stores team this may involve occasional contact with Service Users.
  • To provide a professional, friendly, and efficient image of the Logistics and Prestwich Stores team.
  • To always maintain confidentiality in line with the organisation's Information Governance policies.
  • Identify and inform the Waste, Logistics or Prestwich Stores management team of any recurring issues.
  • To assist with the sorting process of internal and external goods and mail.
  • Transportation of equipment, goods, including food to various Trust sites.
  • Maintaining mandatory vehicle records.
  • General portering and delivery duties of a routine and non-routine nature.
  • Transportation of household, clinical, and confidential waste and to dispose of all streams safely following the Trust procedures and legislative requirements.
  • To ensure medication (controlled and others), specimens, food, and goods are safely delivered following all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Use of power tools on an occasional basis to help dismantle furniture in the Trusts recycling yard or office spaces.
  • Processing and receipting of all goods onto the stores system.
  • Moving of cages, boxes and pallets with the Stores area on a regular basis.
