Job summary

Are you looking to gain experience in a management role. Could you be our next leader. An exciting opportunity for a Band Six Deputy Chief Pharmacy Technician post within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has become available on a fixed term / secondment basis. This post will be technical lead on a number of projects including changes in pharmacy services ready for the new North View build, transfer of supply services and will have involvement of the use of EPMA.

The Pharmacy Department at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has over 60 staff members, working across a number of sites and dispensaries. The post holder will be primary based at Park house Hospital but would be expected to cover across all sites.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to ensure the provision of quality, effective pharmacy services to improve patient care in mental health services, support the development and delivery of education and training programmes for pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals, ensure and management of financial and procurement systems to monitor drug expenditure and trends.

Candidates must be registered pharmacy technicians with the General Pharmaceutical Council in accordance with mandatory professional requirements, hold the BTEC Professional Diploma in Dispensing Checking, have experience of hospital pharmacy and an interest in the specialist field of mental health.
