Job summary

Bolton, Salford & Trafford community clozapine initiation team are currently looking for a 0.5WTE Band 6 nurse to join the community clozapine initiation team.

Although you will be expected to work across the three directorates, the post will job share with the current 0.5WTE clozapine initiation team nurse, who leads in Trafford. Therefore you will be based within one of the Trafford CMHTs.

Main duties of the job

We work closely with a range of other individuals and teams, both within the community and inpatient services across the three directorates. So, excellent communication and team working skills are vital. As are the ability to problem solve effectively and to work autonomously.

About us

We are a small specialist team that provides home based clozapine initiation and re-titration options to patients across Bolton, Salford and Trafford.

Essential

  • Up-to-date NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered General Nurse with equivalent experience

Experience

  • Experience of working with mental health patients in any health/social care setting.
  • Experience of providing support to vulnerable/social excluded individuals/groups

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the issues affecting people with schizophrenia

Skills

Essential

  • Experience of undertaking physical health observations

Desirable

  • Venepuncture trained and ECG trained
