An exciting opportunity has become available for Band 6 Senior Practitioner to work within the wigan Criminal Justice Liaison Team.
We are looking for a practitioner with experience in working with young people, adults and older adults. It is anticipated that all practitioners will develop skills in working with all ages to provide a high standard of care.
The service operates Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays, 9am-5pm.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Practitioner will function at a high competency level. He/she will have responsibility for actively participating as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team within the trust wide Criminal Justice Liaison Team. The post holder will:
- Provide assessment to establish vulnerability related to need within the context of offending behaviour in accordance with CPA, MHA (1983), MCA (2005), Equality Act (2010) , local and national service pathways.
- Provide support and intervention to identified individuals on their journey through the criminal justice system.
- Aim to ensure that individuals living with mental vulnerability are afforded access to appropriate local pathways to care and treatment.
- Provide a point of contact and a process to support active multi-agency working.
- Share relevant information with Criminal Justice decision makers, to inform charging, sentencing and diversion.
- Support and contribute to the management of risk to the public.
- Positively contribute to the improvement of awareness and reduction of stigma in criminal justice, health and social care settings
