Job summary
We are looking for a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to take up our Associate Medical Director.
The Associate Medical Director (AMD) will work collaboratively with the Adult Forensic Clinical Care group leadership team to define and deliver the overall clinical strategy for their services, ensuring this is reflective of the Trust's strategic objectives and is developed and delivered through a multi-disciplinary team approach.
They and the leadership team will have close working relationships with commissioners and other partners that are relevant for the services within the care group. With the care group leadership team they will be responsible for development of services and will be part of the team delivering the Trust Service Improvement plan. They will be able to articulate a vision for their services and will be able to communicate this to all partners.
The AMD will support the Medical Director and Deputy Medical Director in delivering the wider Trust clinical strategy, and may lead on specific clinical developments across the Trust. Relevant leadership responsibilities for those whom directly report to the Associate Medical Director.
Main duties of the job
The AMD will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Operations and the Associate Director of Nursing for the Care Group. They will be expected to function as a collaborative leadership team and will be supported in individual and team development by the executive management team and by a bespoke OD programme. They will be co-located with the Care Group leadership team.
As part of the Care Group leadership team they will be expected to promote collective, collaborative leadership throughout their services.
