Job summary
Maple Ward is a 20 bedded female ward based in Park House on the North Manchester General Hospital site. The ward cares for ladies predominately over the age of 65 years with a functional or organic mental illness.The post holders primary focus will lead on physical health of service users, working closely with registered staff and medical team.The post holder will be required to work across 7 days.
Main duties of the job
Taking and recording Physiological Investigations: The post holder will undertake physiological assessment of Older adults. They will take and record blood pressure, pulse, weight, BMI and venepuncture for required blood tests.
Holistic well-being: Assessing service users holistically. Assessment lifestyles - exercise and activities, eating and drinking, smoking, alcohol and drug use and giving advice on health lifestyles and signposting our service users to other services.
Team Working: The post holder will work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team and provide support to other professionals
Mental Health and Wellbeing: The post holder will contribute to assessment of both physical and mental health needs. Focusing on the physical health and wellbeing of Older Adults with severe and enduring mental health needs
