Job summary
GMMH is redesigning and expanding its forensic community mental health services moving towards an integrated model of forensic community care. The service is looking for a full time Operational Manager to lead the team and support the service expansion and development. The post will be fixed term in the first instance until end of March 24.
The successful candidate will report to the Service Manager for Forensic Community Services and lead on the coordination, management, and operational delivery of the service. This role will involve working alongside key colleagues and partners across Greater Manchester and the Secure Provider Collaborative.
The post holder will actively support the Service Manager in ensuring the implementation and delivery of the redesign and expansion plan milestones to support the achievement of the objectives and be expected to lead on specific work within this plan.

Main duties of the job
The Operational Manager is responsible for providing high quality and effective care including the management and performance of the teams within their portfolio. In addition, theOperational Manager participates in ensuring the health, wellbeing and development of the workforce.
The post holders will be an integral part of the AFS Directorate senior leadership team.
The post holder will be required to provide management and professional leadership to the Team Manager, and will be accountable for the teams' performance and all aspects of line management to the staff resource, including the implementation of appraisal and professional development planning.
The role requires experience in managing change, managing priorities and maintaining resilience which will be key in the very exciting period of the AFS service development.
The post holder will, as required, participate in the Trusts on call rota for Bronze On-call Managers.
