Support Worker -SPTS Autism Diagnostic Service

Job summary

The Autism Diagnostic Pathway sits within GMMH Specialist Psychological Therapy Service and provide diagnostic assessments for people age 16 + years, short-term post diagnostic support for those diagnosed with autism within the Wigan and Leigh Borough.

The team is comprised of Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Principle Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Advanced Practitioners, Assistant Psychologists, Support Workers, Peer Support Workers and Admin.

Main duties of the job

The role is to provide support to other practitioners within the Autism Diagnostics service in carrying out assessments.

Under supervision to work with individuals who recently diagnosed autistic adults in offering post-diagnostic support, which will include delivering training to autistic people, their families and other members of the system

Carries a personal caseload .

Supervises and supports the work of other professions as required
