We have an opportunity for a Highly Specialist Counselling/Clinical Psychologist (or preceptorship for a Band 7 to 8a position) within our Core Team in Solar. The Core Team is an integral part of the Solar service.
Solar provides emotional wellbeing and mental health services to Children, Young People and Families in Solihull (0-18).Solar was set up as a service not about thresholds or tiers but about timely access to appropriate support in line with children and young people's needs. Solar aims to create a comprehensive system, designed around the needs of children and young people.
The main base for this post will be at Bishop Wilson Clinic in Chelmsley Wood. However, there may be occasions when you are required to work from other bases, including the Solar base at Fresh Fields Clinic in Knowle.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical/counselling psychologist or equivalent applied psychological practitioner, the role will assist in the delivery of the service to children, young people and families within Solar Core This will include highly specialist psychological assessments, individual therapy and group work. In addition the role will include the development of supervision of psychological therapists and assistant psychologists as well as providing consultation, service development, research and teaching/training as required.
There are also opportunities to lead on aspects in the service, as well as ongoing CPD and training.
