Job summary
To support the Finance Manager in providing a comprehensive, customer focused, financial management service to a strategic clinical Division within the Trust.
By ensuring an accurate, relevant, timely financial data and resource management is provided to team managers for the purpose of budgetary control.
To support and lead on areas with regards to the preparation and monitoring of budgets and budget reports for their areas, and ensuring that robust financial management is maintained in the Trust.
Deputising for the Finance Manager and being the first point of contact for Budget Holders, this will involve regular meetings with them to resolve queries and issues and feed information into financial forecasts.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in providing a comprehensive financial management and business support service to the CYP Division.
The post holder will support the Finance Manager in producing and providing robust financial monitoring including budget setting, and various reporting requirements on a monthly basis such as month end, financial forecasting, delivery of savings and general financial performance.
The post holder will be able to build relationships with non finance colleagues and work constructively to improve financial understanding and acumen with regards to budget management and value for money.
The post holder will be able to work with non finance managers to track income and expenditure as well as obtain relevant financial information to support forecasting and any actions resulting in changes to forecasts.
The post involves being the first point of contact for Budget Holders - setting up regular meetings with them to resolve queries, feedback financial performance and feed relevant information into forecasting.
The post holder will be an active member of the Finance Directorate contributing to its development.
