Job summary
The Knowledge Specialist for Digital Delivery & Deputy Library Manager is a pivotal role within the knowledge and library service, responsible for the management of Barberry Library site, coordinating activities across two library sites, line managing our dedicated team of experienced library and knowledge staff, and contributing to the strategic direction of the service. You will design and deliver innovative service improvement projects, enabling our clinical and non-clinical teams to access high quality digital collections and tailored knowledge services relevant to their needs. There is an emphasis upon outreach to engage proactively with our multi-disciplinary teams, senior managers, students, service users, families and carers, and with external stakeholders.This is an excellent opportunity for leadership development, bringing your enthusiasm, creativity and vision to help us achieve our quality and service improvement goals and to deliver the NHS Knowledge for Healthcare programme.
Main duties of the job
Based at the Barberry, the postholder is responsible for operational management of the Knowledge and Library Service, deputising for the library manager when required to do so, and line management of library staff based at the Barberry and Uffculme sites, and when working remotely.The post holder will assist the library manager to develop a digital strategy and will lead projects that contribute to the Trust's strategic priorities, ensuring equality and inclusion at all times. Outcomes will be linked to our quality assurance objectives and service improvement plan.A key outcome will be the development of evidence-based resources and collections relevant to the Trust's specialisms. Drawing on experience and best practice, the post holder will utilise appropriate technologies to deliver current awareness services and mobilise knowledge for effective, and timely decision making.The post holder will work closely with service leads in corporate services, research and development, undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical teams, the Participation and Experience Team, and supporting the Recovery College Team and Recovery for All strategy.
