Job summary

We have an exciting vacancy for a Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist within our 0-25 yrs Specialist Eating Disorders Service and ARFID pathway (Forward Thinking Birmingham/CYP Division). SEDS are an established, ambitious community eating disorders team, with a developing ARFID pathway. There has never been a more exciting time to join our expanding team.

The post is suitable for individuals who hold a CBT diploma/Masters qualification and are accredited with the BABCP.The post holder will provide specialist CBT intervention and contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychological treatments for young people with eating disorders including ARFID.

Ideally, applicants will have experience of working with children and young people, with Eating Disorders, Autism and ARFID. However, we are able to provide training to help develop skills within these areas. You will be part of multi-professional team, having access to support, guidance and opportunities for learning and development from within SEDS as well as the wider FTB, Psychological Therapy community/Team. We have a vibrant community of psychological therapists across the organisation and you will be warmly welcomed by colleagues from all psychological therapist groups.

Main duties of the job

We would welcome applications from those looking to build upon their clinical skills with a wide range of presenting difficulties to make a difference in the community. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and skilled clinicians who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs.

Training/qualifications

Essential

  • A specialist post-graduate (or equivalent) qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) i.e. MSc, or Post Graduate Diploma.
