Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Patients Accounts Officer to join the general office team at the Tamarind Centre Medium Secure Unit
The post-holder will be required to provide a range of high-quality financially related duties to the Secure Services In-patients.
We are looking for a team player, able to work under pressure, meet critical deadlines and manage the workload effectively to meet the needs of the service. The post holder will need to be highly organised, flexible and accurate. Having excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages is essential for this role.
In addition, having significant cash handling, providing a face to face customer focused service and/or experience of working in a busy office environment would also be advantageous for this role.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be required to provide a full range of financial and clerical duties to hospital in-patients and staff.The main duties for this role include maintaining in-patient computerised bank accounts, processing day to day cash and all other transactions. Supporting patients with processing and maintaining online benefit claims, liaising with the benefit office. Providing a face to face counter service, cashiering duties, including receipting, ordering and banking cash, processing cash payments, ordering and distribution of patients' internet orders. Maintaining all associated general office electronic and paper records.
