Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Provider Collaborative's Commissioning and Transformation Team. This role is predominantly working in the children and young people's space with a focus on infant mental health, perinatal mental health, and Parent and Infant Relationships (PAIR).
This role will strengthen the relationship between infant and perinatal mental health within Birmingham and Solihull through the development of a Birmingham and Solihull strategy. The role will involve developing the strategy in conjunction with wider health agendas and the priorities of the local authorities to support the delivery of better outcomes.
The post holder will lead on strategy, planning, redesign, policy, commissioning and performance management within a life course approach to mental health and will ideally demonstrate a level of subject matter expertise within infant and perinatal mental health.
You will have responsibility for leading key elements of the Commissioning and Transformation teams workplan such as:
- Children and young people's transformation programme
- Infant Mental Health; Perinatal Mental Health
- PAIR (Parent and Infant Relationship) strategy
The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative manner drawing upon diverse perspectives including those of people who use and deliver services. Most importantly they will be committed to supporting improvements in mental health across the population of Birmingham and Solihull.
Main duties of the job
o Identifying and addressing key risks and areas of over/under performance in relation to mental health contractso Ensuring that the value of joint commissioning is realised and understood byall key stakeholders.o Leading and supporting the implementation of key elements of the jointcommissioning strategies for mental health.o Lead and supporting the business planning processes to ensure that the commissioning team has appropriate systems in place to respond effectively to key changes in policy.o Undertake specific pieces of scoping work within the commissioning team toinform planning and commissioning for the future.o The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value formoney in planning, commissioning and service.o The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise andtechnical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
