Job summary

As an Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the professional development of our Occupational Teams across BSMHFT.

You will be responsible for enhancing skills and new ways of working, providing expert teaching, training and support to clinical staff, ensuring the highest standards of practice are maintained across the services.

You will work closely with Occupational Therapists from all the clinical directorates: Secure Care and Offender Health, Dementia and Frailty, Specialities, Integrated Community Care and Recovery and Acute and Urgent Care Directorates, and the newly developed Children & Young People.

Main duties of the job

  • Support an effective clinical educational environment that supports staff in the delivery of safe, high quality, evidence based mental health care.
  • Support the development of programmes of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all levels of the Occupational Therapy workforce.
  • Act as an expert resource, demonstrating high standards of clinical expertise in the delivery of Occupational Therapy care.
  • Be expected to maintain a high clinical profile working with mental health services to educate and improve knowledge and skills.
  • Be highly flexible to support new initiatives, changes to practice and embed evidence-based practice in a wide range of clinical settings.
