Band 6 Occupational Therapist - SOLAR

Job summary

v To manage a defined caseload of children and young people with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a range of settings.

v To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of OT services within a designated service/team, holding responsibility for defined projects. To regularly supervise OT students on placement.

v To provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal.

To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust OT service

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will hold an OT caseload and will also offer specific Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people . As a team, we are looking to improve the way we provide interventions and to develop collaborative formulations to plan and direct our input. Applicants should have significant experience of working post qualification in mental health services.The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with individuals, adopting a creative and problem solving approach to working practice. You will need to be flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.The team is looking for someone committed to multi-disciplinary and partnership working, and who can establish good networks with our Recovery College and other voluntary, statutory and independent agencies
