An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the Psychological Services lead for a pilot revolutionising the way that mental health support is delivered to communities in the UK. We have been selected to be one of 6 sites to pilot a neighbourhood mental health service based on a successful model delivered in Trieste, Italy.

The 24/7 pilot will offer a suite of specialist mental services including community mental health, assertive outreach and inpatient beds to a population of approximately 50,000.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical/counselling psychologist, or equivalent applied psychological practitioner, and will be responsible for the day to day delivery and governance of psychological services in our Neighbourhood Mental Health pilot in East Birmingham.

We are looking for someone who can provide clinical leadership in the development and delivery of the Neighbourhood Adult Mental Health pilot and be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team which will include voluntary sector community and peer support workers alongside clinical roles.

The candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development alongside exercising full clinical responsibility for the psychological care and treatment of clients, working within a multidisciplinary context and a passion for new ways of working with the ability to adapt and lead a new approach will be crucial.
