Job summary

An opportunity has risen at Ardenleigh - Citrine Ward for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse. As part of the Blended service for women, we provide care for Women in the acute ward.

We work in collaboration with FIRST (Forensic Intensive Response Support Team), Families and Carers, ANAWIM and Education stakeholders in delivering a robust care to our patients -tailored to meet individual needs of our service users . Our Multidisciplinary Team approach is guided the SCALE Model and Trauma Informed Care.

Our Deputy Managers provide frontline leadership of dynamic, pro-active and recovery focused ward aimed at providing good quality of care in a safe and comfortable environment for our services users. We provide this service within the framework of the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety outlined by the CQC. Our Deputy Ward Managers are also expected to drive Our Vison, Values and Strategic Priorities as a Trust.

We work on a foundation of Compassion, inclusivity and Commitment.

In return, we will offer you a Leadership and Management Training, mentorship training, regular management and clinical supervision, continuous professional development and a supportive team to nurture your skills and talent.

You will also be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team working in collaboration with our service users, their families, and other professionals, internal and external multi-agencies.

Main duties of the job

You are expected to demonstrate ability in effective Staff supervision and appraisals, rota management, communication, empathy, sickness monitoring , self-awareness, clinical skills, understanding of the Mental Health Act, compassion and critical self-reflection. Also, an ability to share responsibility with the management team and recognise own limits in managing decisions. You will also be expected to lead the site as Duty Senior Nurse on a regular basis.

You will need to demonstrate a range of skills and attributes including effective leadership, crisis management, flexibility, and discharge planning and site coordination
