An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team at Ashcroft Centre for a fixed term 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will provide an efficient and confidential administration service for the Consultant Psychiatrist within an admin team.
Applicants should have relevant qualifications as per attached person specification. The applicant must be well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets and on their own initiative.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include transcription from digital dictation from a Consultant Psychiatrist and their medical team of doctors. The successful applicant will be a focal point for patients with queries and general medical secretary duties. Working both as a team player and independently you will need to be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. You will need to meet deadlines and be able to work under pressure. You must have the ability to manage your time effectively in order to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder will be expected to have a caring, professional and empathic approach, whilst also maintaining boundaries and confidentiality
