Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team and lead the pharmacy service looking after our acute care services in South Birmingham.

The post holder will manage the clinical pharmacy services to our Acute Care South wards and teams at the Oleaster Centre, Edgbaston and Zinnia Centre, Sparkhill, both in South Birmingham. Both units are modern, pleasant facilities with a diverse and dynamic team of mental health professionals. You will play an important role in managing and leading a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working at these units, ensuring they provide a high quality clinical pharmacy service and contributing to their professional development. You will also participate in the provision of the clinical pharmacy services alongside the team

You will be a member of the trust Senior Pharmacy Team and be expected to take the lead on a number of projects as well as contributing to the development of clinical pharmacy services across the Trust. This post also includes participation in the Pharmacy on call service.

You should have significant NHS hospital experience, including experience of mental health clinical pharmacy. You should also have a post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, ideally within mental health.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead, provide and support clinical pharmacy services to the inpatient wards based at our Oleaster and Zinnia Centres, working with pharmacy professionals and a range of other health professionals based at these sites.

You will also represent Pharmacy at governance and other business meetings for Specialties alongside the lead pharmacist for Acute Care, North.

You will have opportunities for further development within the role including becoming a prescriber if necessary as well as management and leadership courses.
