We are looking for a full time Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Bipolar Service, a trust-wide specialist psychological service. This therapuetic nursing role is focussed on the delivery of the Mood on Track Programme. Leadership of groups, training, service evaluation and initiatives to enhance care accross the system is an expectation.You will need :
- current NMC registration
- a high level of experience as a Band 6 in statutory community mental health services
- an interest in working in this specialist area
- some experience of delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions for people with a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and/or Psychosis (e.g. early signs, group, individual ,family intervention)
- experience of clinical leadership
- excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships accross services
The successful applicant will work closely with others and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to deliver care within a diverse inner city catchment area with high demand. You will join a welcoming MDT with a clear ethos and vision aligning with the trust values and providing high quality care. The post holder will be given the opportunity to further develop their skills.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role within the Bipolar Service is to provide group and individual intervention to those with Bipolar Disorder and related conditions.
The post is aligned with the aims of community transformation and national policy focussing on increasing provision of and access to evidence based psychological interventions for those with severe and enduring mental health problems including Bipolar Disorder .
Main duties :
Delivery of the Mood on Track Programme
Group leadership and delivery
Teaching and training
Supervision of other staff and students
Relapse prevention
Family intervention
Risk assessment and management
Liaison with other teams and services
Providing nursing expertise to the MDT
Input into clinical care and MoT programme from nursing perspective
Service evaluation, audit and quality improvement
Work with experts by experience
