Job summary

With digital a critical dependency in Healthcare, availability of our services is essential. At Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust the skills to develop, support and maintain our systems and services are done in house with the help of a highly motivated group of technical specialists, system architect and application developers, integration engine specialist, support engineers and specialist application support staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated systems development manager, responsible for the effective operational management of our critical systems, both in clinical and corporate areas.

Main duties of the job

As head of our development team, you will lead with the creation and maintenance of innovative applications and integration solutions for our Trust.

You will be responsible for the effective operational management of the Trusts' corporate data systems and other critical data resources, in particular clinical systems like Rio, ensuring system availability, robust back-up and data recovery arrangements and integrity of data across integrated systems. Coordinating systems, processes and technical staff activity to ensure data integrity and continuous and reliable systems availability throughout the Trust.

You will act as lead systems development and database management specialist for the Trust, managing and leading technical staff on a line management or project basis as necessary.

Provide a proactive specialist resource undertaking highly complex systems development, realtime data exchange and migration, and database management projects. Experience with systems integration technology and the Intersystems Health Connect (formerly Ensemble) product would be a particular advantage.
