Job summary

The BSol Staff Mental Health Hub provides specialist psychological assessment and brief interventions for BSol health and social care staff. The Service accepts self referrals and referrals by staff managers, and the service provides specialist psychological assessments and brief interventions within a multidisciplinary psychological professions team. The Service is also involved in the wider systems support for staff to help address the effect of work pressures and stress. You may be involved in delivering psychoeducational workshops and mental health promotion events across acute care, primary care and social care.

This post is for a counsellor to provide individual assessments and brief evidence based counselling interventions for health and social care staff who are referred to the Hub. You will work as part of the Hub Team, and may also be involved in systems level support for staff across the health and social care system in Birmingham & Solihull. Some travel across Birmingham & Solihull sites will be required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a team of clinicians whose responsibility is to provide psychological services for NHS and social care staff working in Birmingham & Solihull.

The post-holder will be responsible, with other team members, for the delivery of a brief counselling service as part of a wider psychological assessment and therapy service. Clinical provision will include assessment, formulation and time-limited evidence based interventions including brief counselling interventions.. The post holder may also play a role in system level support around psychological issues for health and social care staff.
