The Neuropsychiatry team offer assessment and care for people with the full range of neuropsychiatric disorders including Huntington's disease, sleep disorders, epilepsy and functional neurological disorders.
We are seeking to recruit a part time locum consultant in neuropsychiatry with a primary focus on people with Huntington disease and sleep disorders
Main duties of the job
Expert assessment and treatment of people with Huntington disease as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Expert assessment and treatment of people with the full range of sleep disorders
Assessment of people with a range of other neuropsychiatric conditions
Participation in multi-disciplinary meetings within the team and with external partners
About us
The Neuropsychiatry team offers services nationally. We have a well-staffed MDT and on-site video telemetry facilities for the diagnosis of sleep disorders and other paroxysmal behaviour disorders. Our MDT provides a range of psychological and practical management strategies for people with neuropsychiatric illness.
The team contains national and international experts in their fields and has a high reputation. Our patients are able to participate in world-leading research projects.

- Experience of providing psychological and/or social interventions
- Experience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level
- Commitment to clinical audit within multi-disciplinary team.
- Evidence of potential for effective leadership.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work creatively within multi- disciplinary team.
- Demonstrable interest in the provision of gender sensitive mental health service
