Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust is a mental health trust looking to recruit a practitioner who is passionate about managing physical deterioration and medical emergencies within our mental health services.

This is a new role and a new service to the trust. Although this is a full-time role, we are willing to look at flexible working or job share.

Main duties of the job

The candidate must be a confident visible leader with the skills to develop the deteriorating patient strategy and the ability to provide appropriate clinical direction for the Trust.

We are looking for someone with excellent clinical skills and experience in all areas related to the deteriorating patient and end of life, (including medical emergencies and resuscitation), you will be required to lead in the improvement of our end-of-life services for our service users.

The candidate must have strong communication and negotiating skills which will include formal, informal and ad-hoc clinical development, to support our teams deliver appropriate emergency interventions. These need to be fit for all the individual areas.

The successful candidate will work alongside our physical health support teams, our learning and development departments, our external resuscitation providers, our senior medical and nursing leadership, and individual wards or units to provide excellent clinical care to our vulnerable service users.

This role will require the skills to report to the resuscitation committee and the physical health committee.
