Job summary

The post holder will provide leadership, direction to the MHL Administration team in relation to operational and professional provision of Mental Health Legislation (MHL)

To have line management responsibility for the MHL Administrators, monthly regular management supervision and annual appraisals in line with Trust policy.

To have responsibility for monitoring the day-to-day MHL administration processes across the department in order to provide consistency of practice and an effective and structured provision of MHL administration services across the Trust to maintain the Trust's reputation and integrity and ensuring protection from legal liability.

To ensure new processes are created and implemented in a timely manner in response to changing Mental Health Legislation.

To ensure patient information is processed in accordance with procedures and to investigate complex enquiries, providing assistance and advice as required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of management of the MHL Administrators within the Department, including the management and effective operation of recruitment, appraisal, supervision and training of MHL Administration staff.

The post holder will play a key role in the development, implementation, management and maintenance of office systems & procedures within the MHL Department. This will allow the team to administer the statutory regulations of the Act and in accordance with recognised good practice, including the production of procedures and policies, staff training and audit whilst responding to changing mental health legislation in a timely manner.
