Job summary

We would like you to join us in our Integrated Continuing Care and Recovery services, delivering a wide range of services to the diverse communities of BSMHFT to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

We currently have both part time and full time vacancies for Band 5 Occupational Therapists to work in our developing Community Mental Health Teams, at various Trust sites, alongside Band 6 and Technical Instructors.

Main duties of the job

The OT staff within our five CMHT teams are managed by OT Managers, who provide professional leadership and line management. and support the development and shaping of our OT service.

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist's within our community mental health teams you will hold a caseload, deliver specific Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to individuals, and support our growing groupwork programme. We encourage all staff to participate in team wide discussions about our service , look to improve the quality of our pathway from assessment and screening through to discharge and prioritise planning and projects to achieve this. We work within multi professional team and provide clinical assessment and interventions using professional clinical frameworks to formulate recovery-based, trauma informed treatment plans.

We use MOHO as the main outcome measure to evaluate our care but encourage staff to use a wide range of measures in order to achieve positive outcomes for our service users.

We are looking for existing Band 5 staff or new graduates committed to working within this field, who enjoy working with others in a multi-disciplinary setting , keen to explore joint working opportunities,. You would be flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and under supervision when needed.
