Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated, innovative and recovery focused senior OT to help with the development of a therapeutic rehabilitation programme for our service users here at Endeavour Court.

Endeavour Court is a 14 bedded male high dependency rehabilitation unit for men with severe and enduring mental illnesses, often with complex presentations, who require a further period of care in hospital to help them achieve their recovery goals.

We have an activity centre on site, which we hope the right candidate will have the vision and tenacity to ensure it used to its maximum potential, with support from an activity worker, and nursing staff. There is also a local day centre, and a recovery college programme ran by the trust, to help establish good links within the local community.

This post is ward based so you will be working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, carrying out OT specific tasks whilst contributing to a central therapeutic programme.

Our Trust has good professional structures and CPD opportunities. You will access to on-site band 7 professional support. We have a robust induction process to enable you to develop skills and confidence in the ward setting, whilst our preceptorship programme will enable you to consolidate your OT skills.

Main duties of the job

Are you a team player, confident and flexible with good communication skills?

Are you highly motivated and enthusiastic about making an active contribution to building a quality service? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your skills as an OT and as a mental health professional? If the answer is "yes" then we would like to welcome you on board.

Main duties include:

Working alongside nursing staff in care delivery

Completing assessments (MOHOST)

Attending review - MDT

Supporting discharge planning

Running groups and planned activities

Writing reports and documenting in care notes
