Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST)
Band 6 Secure Care community OT
Diploma, BSC or MSC in Occupational Therapy - HCPC registration is required for this post.
F.I.R.S.T - is a multi-disciplinary community team addressing individual needs through bespoke packages of care within Secure Care and Offender Health.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our clinically innovative and developing community OT team. The FIRST team is a diverse workforce consisting of a full complement of professionals, supported by a range of recovery services, EBE, peer mentors, STR workers and an employment specialist.
The team offer a range of recovery and treatment opportunities for service users in the community from the most appropriate professional(s)/support staff at the right time. The service is investing in re-design in response to its success and the need for increased capacity and more diverse treatment pathways.
The team in reach to inpatient medium and low secure care services to service users preparing to transition to less restrictive environments in the community.
The post requires the candidates to have highly effective and adaptive communication styles and good conflict management strategies. When working with people with challenging behaviours you will need to demonstrate good well-being strategies for yourself and your colleagues and emotional intelligence.
The team have an active and positive attitude towards in innovation, audit, and service development. This is supported through regular supervision, reflective practice groups, peer supervision groups and annual development reviews. CPD is strongly supported and encouraged.
