Trauma and Orthopaedics

A great opportunity has risen to join trauma and Orthopaedic ward. Our Service at Royal Blackburn Hospital, consists of a 23 bedded dedicated 23 bedded adult trauma ward (B24) We have a dedicated Trauma team and fracture clinic outpatient service all supported by 16 orthopaedic trauma consultant's and 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioner's.

Ward Manager Kelly Haddock has an equally skilled and dedicated team of staff providing a service to patients who have sustained injuries including traumatic or pathological fractures. We work closely with our multidisciplinary colleagues form Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Orthotics, fracture clinic, plaster room and the emergency department in order to ensure we provide Safe Personal and Effective care for all our patients.

Experience

  • Confident at dealing with people over the telephone and face to face in any setting.
  • Ability to understand, absorb and comply with detailed procedures
  • Able to manage more than one task at once
  • Able to write basic reports
  • Able to train less qualified

Desirable

  • Have knowledge of current research applicable to the post's specialist area. Postregistration experience
  • Able to present reasoned discussion.
