An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to work on an 18 bedded Vascular surgical ward caring for patients requiring Emergency and Elective Surgery.
The Vascular Service nationally is ever improving and evolving and currently there are plans to have a centralised service for all East Lancashire patients at Preston Hospital in the future . The successful applicants would start there new role as Nurse associate at Royal Blackburn Hospital however when Vascular Services move in the future you will be expected to transfer to Preston Hospital with all the other staff and services ( there is no confirmed date still in planning stages )
Main duties of the job
The ward is a busy , modern unit with a professional but friendly team delivering high standards of care .
General duties will include pre and post- operative care for general surgical patients, administration of medication, including controlled drugs, by various routes, recording of physiological observations, wound care, management of complex patients with multiple issues, escalating care when needed, management of pain management systems such as epidurals, as. Documentation is also an essential part of the role, with accurate, legible recording of nursing interventions and completion of electronic nursing risk assessments. We aim to involve our patients in their care to improve nursing outcomes and ensure the patient's journey through their time with us is a satisfactory one. Delivering safe, personal and effective care to our patients must be at the centre of all we do.
