Job summary
A Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Health Visiting to provide strong clinical care and leadership within an integrated skill mixed team as part of the 0-19 Universal Health Service in Blackburn with Darwen.
To lead on the delivery of the Health Child Programme 0-5 years and defined local requirements based on the provider contract.
Main duties of the job
To provide family centred, evidence based public health service that aims to proactively improve health outcomes for a defined caseload, population or community, reducing the risks and impact of health inequalities by working in partnership with families, communities and other professionals. This will be achieved through delivery of the model of health visiting at a community, universal, targeted and specialist level. Safeguarding is embedded within the model considering safe and effective management of risk for children, young people and families.

- Experience of multi-agency and partnership working Experience of delivering health promotion or public health programmes Working in a team
- Good understanding of the healthy child programme 0-5 Healthy Child Programme Child and adult safeguarding knowledge/experience Awareness of inequalities in health and implications in practice Demonstrable leadership skills Clinical governance framework and implications for practice NMC standards and implications for practice Understanding of the value of Engagement and Participation Clinical/ Safeguarding risk assessment and analysis skills Team working Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines Ability to work under pressure, using initiative Be flexible to changing demands of the workload
